About

Greatly Blest is a dedicated group of anointed vocalist and musicians that “Love the Lord” and carry on His mission in stunning harmony with an easy listening style. As well as original music written by the group, Greatly Blest worships with a genre of  well know Southern Gospel music, both Past and Present. Their smooth and tight harmony is in true good old Southern Gospel style. The versatility of Tina, Joyce and Edwin doesn’t allow them to classified themselves as singing a specific part. Tina and Joyce cover all of the upper ranges of Lead, Alto and Tenor depending upon the arrangement and Edwin covers the mid to low ranges of Lead, Alto, Tenor and even touches the edge of Bass on certain arrangements. Greatly Blest considers ourselves a regional Group, traveling the eastern United States at present, but is willing to travel any where the Lord provides the means and opportunity.

Tina, Joyce and Edwin are no strangers to Southern Gospel Music. All three started as young adults and have played or sang with other Groups in the Past and performed on stage in a variety of venues. While with other groups the members of Greatly Blest  have opened for other well known artists and continue to do so. Whether it be a worship service in a small local church or a concert in a much larger venue, Greatly Blest is equally comfortable, the main focus always remains to present Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior and mainstay.

The members of Greatly Blest are related. Joyce and Edwin are husband and wife of 42 years of marriage. They were married in 1971. Tina is related to Edwin, they are 3rd cousins. Their Great Great Grandfathers were brothers, but that family harmony shines through. On occasion David Benton, & his wife Sherry, can be seen traveling with Greatly Blest running sound and helping dad load and unload equipment.

Greatly Blest in it’s formation, in 2011, decided that we would go back to the basics of Southern Gospel Music. Go back to the older songs mixed with some of the newer Gospel Music of our day and of course use the original songs that Tina, Joyce and Edwin have written, some of them dating back into the 1970′s. Many of the old quartets only had piano or piano and bass or maybe one acoustic guitar added to that. Just the basics. We wanted to go back to the basics and start there. Just family singing around the piano.  Sometimes less is more, especially if God is in it.

From the smooth tight a cappella harmony of  ”My Saviors Love” to the blues beat of  ”Wouldn’t Take Nothing for My Journey Now”, we are sure that once you hear this group Greatly Blest you will say that you have been “Greatly Blest”
