Bio – Tina Godley
At the age of 4, I was adopted by a wonderful Christian couple that had a love for Southern Gospel Music. My mom and dad would attend every “gospel sing” in our area, and my introduction to Southern Gospel Music definitely defined my life. At the age of 6, my parents started me off with piano lessons, and soon I was playing piano for my mom & I singing duets together. In 1976 I began playing piano and singing alto with a Southern Gospel Group “The Redeemed”. We traveled for 2 years on weekends sharing God’s message in song. The following years, I was given opportunities to serve in different churches as pianist, taught piano, and played with other gospel groups. I know Jesus as my personal Savior and strive to live for Him daily.
In 2007 the Lord placed two special people in my life, Edwin & Joyce Benton. Edwin was playing bass guitar, and I was asked to serve as pianist at a local church in Wilmington, NC. Quickly, Edwin, Joyce & I became best of friends, began singing together and now have been called by God to share His testimony in song in the group Greatly Blest.
I consider my talent as a gift from God, and therefore should be used to minister to everyone, spreading the Good News, that we serve an awesome God, and we cannot do anything without Him. If one lost soul is saved because of our ministry, then my goal has been won and the Glory be given to God!
As every man hath received the gift, [even so] minister the same one to another, as good stewards of the manifold grace of God. (1Peter 4:10)
